To all experienced guitarists out there. How did you master your fretboard?
I want to master my fret board in the quickest fastest way. So far I can name open strings and work out all the notes on the fret board easily.
I want to be able to just automatically go to the note I want, is there a quick way of learning this? e.g. software I can practice on and test myself?
So far I can only do this with a few notes. I am practicing on a 6 sring fender ..one of the recent models. I have the time needed for practice but want to learn as fast as possible. Me being a fast learner helps and from experience so far I can say that I’ve learnt more from guitar players than from reading guitar books.
Very capable..
If even masters haven’t scratched the surface yet then how can they be masters?
If thats the case then nobody has mastered the guitar… hmm

I don’t know if it’s the quickest, but once I drew out the 6 strings, then drew frets on them and labelled each one so I had a “cheat sheet” to look on. Then I just played simple songs from sheet music. After a couple of them you start to remember where notes are. It’s all just repetition.
